Join Texas Discovery Gardens and Big Tex from Sept. 25
through Oct. 18 for fun-filled activities throughout the
Gardens. The butterflies are back! The Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House & Insectarium showcases butterflies including striking Zebra Longwings, Monarchs and Swallowtails.
Three air-conditioned exhibits feature organic fashion, encaustic art and the science of pollination.
Also during the fair:
Monarch Tagging Demonstration: Daily at 11 am and 3 pm
Tree Carving Demonstration: Thursday through Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm
Preservation Tree Services will offer free zip line rides to kids (48” and under) on Saturdays and Sundays, 10 am to noon and 2 pm to 4 pm.
General Information: Open daily during the Fair with extended hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission charged for Butterfly House. (Last butterfly house admission sold at 5:15 pm).*State Fair admission and parking fees apply.

Butterfly House: You and your family can submerge
yourself in native butterflies in our newly renovated butterfly house.
Admission is $8/adults, $6/seniors and $4/children. Last tickets sold thirty minutes before
close. *State Fair admission and parking also applies.
Monarch Tagging: Learn about the amazing Monarch
butterfly migration story and how scientists developed a way to tag
monarchs to better track their migration patterns. Butterfly release
after the demonstration. Daily at 11 am and 3 pm. |
