Our mission:
Fimîka translates artistic expression into quality clothing made with respect for the environment and social welfare. Made in the USA, our garments are created under fair labor practices and healthy conditions. Our clothing features all natural fibers that are organic whenever possible.

Our story:
Founders Fifile Nguyen and Michelle French met in their first design class at the University of Texas at Austin. After graduating, they traveled through Europe and South America, respectively. Inspired by their travels and experiences, they conceived the idea of Fimîka, and were united through their mutual frustration of the lack of art and integrity in design available for the smart, environmentally conscious consumer. Fimîka is for the modern woman who is always finding herself on some kind of adventure.

Darian Thomas
Darian Thomas

Darian Designs by Darian Thomas, launched in 2007, is a sophisticated contemporary brand with edgy, confident and playful sensibilities. Each collection plays on a contrast between a sophisticated silhouette and a flirtatious style. Always complimenting the female silhouette through flattering fits while exuding confidence and individuality through colors, textiles, and unique combinations. Chic, Glamorous, Designed for the CONFIDENT!

The Aquatica Collection - I combined bright, multicolored printed chiffon; luminous sheen jersey; vibrant solid satins and georgettes to reflect the multidimensional and faceted works of Chihuly’s Sea forms and infinite colors, textures, and movements of the ocean. This combination of fabric textures creates silhouettes that emulate ocean waves and the delicate swirls and ripples within Chihuly’s glass works.

The jewelry pieces, designed reflect the elements of underwater life in shape and color using materials such as onyx, lava, mother of pearl, kale, crystal agates and free form shaped chain. This blend of bright ocean colors, clean solids, unique silhouettes, and bold statement jewelry exude sophistication, strength, confidence, and femininity.

Lindsay Weatherread
Lindsay Weatherread

Lindsay Weatherread is a native of Dallas, Texas and was always interested in fashion, but her first love was dance. Formally trained since the age of 3, she won competitions on a regional and national level. She then continued on at Oklahoma City University with a dance scholarship and was a member of the "American Spirit Touring Dance Company" and taught dance for a number of years thereafter.

Realizing that she had developed an interest in fashion design, she subsequently attended El Centro Community College for Fashion and Pattern Design. She is now honored to be a member of the El Centro College Fashion Advisory Board. While still in school for Fashion Design, she was signed on by Link Artist Resources as a fashion stylist for print and film.

Lindsay pushes her limits as a designer who wants to perfect the draping and fabric manipulation technique, and calls her unmistakable style “Origami for Your Body.” Creating an organic and non-organic line for women and baby, working as a fashion stylist, producer, and casting for the photo industry, L.Weatherread is sure to be a staple in the fashion and design world for years to come.

Why Organic Fashion?

Live organically: Think beyond the produce aisle. At Texas Discovery Gardens, we connect organic gardening to the bigger picture of a holistic lifestyle.

To put it simply, organic products have been made without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. It goes beyond fruits and vegetables at the market. You can now find organically grown cotton, organic beauty and health products, and more.

If you’re organically farming or just growing a backyard butterfly garden, you are creating a healthy, vibrant ecosystem of plants, insects, & animals.

At our Butterfly House, we control pests like mealy bug by mechanical means: removing pests by hand or cutting back diseased plants.

Outside, we place plants where they receive optimal sunlight, soil and water needs. Healthy plants are stronger and repel pests more easily. Organic gardeners also feed soil life, which then gives plants the necessary nutrients without the need for synthetic fertilizer. Incorporating manure and compost into the soil surrounding plants is important for organic gardening.

It really is all connected. If you garden organically, you can see the difference in beneficial insects and wildlife in your backyard. Imagine the difference on a large-scale farm that produces food or fiber!
