Part Time Positions

Guest Relations Associate

Texas Discovery Gardens is looking for a part time Guest Relations Associate to work primarily Saturdays and Sundays. You’ll work at our front desk greeting guests, selling admission, answering questions, and serving as a positive first impression. You also may help in the Gift Shop. On some days, you may also get to bring out some of our favorite critters to for guests to see up close in the lobby! Some evening work may be requested, as well as filling in on other days of the week and during some holidays (we are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Years). $9.50/hour, typically 9:30 am to 5 pm.

Internships

Organic Gardening Intern

Texas Discovery Gardens is looking for an Organic Gardening Intern this summer! You’ll work out on the grounds and in the greenhouse propagating plants, maintaining and weeding beds, planting annuals and perennials, etc. The internship is Monday –Friday from 8 am to noon. Butterfly House Intern

Texas Discovery Gardens is looking for a Butterfly House Intern this summer! Learn organic maintenance practices and help prune tropical plants. Process butterfly pupae and assist with the care and feeding of our arthropod collection. The internship is Tuesday –Saturday from 8 am to noon. June-August (start and end dates flexible). $10/hour. The Mission Continues Fellowship opportunities

If you served in the military in 2001 or later, you may be eligible to participate in a six month Fellowship through "The Mission Continues." This organization gives you a stipend and leadership training in exchange for volunteering 20 hours per week at a DFW nonprofit. Texas Discovery Gardens is eligible; a position in our greenhouse and gardens is perfect for someone interested in learning the tools of the horticulture trade.
