Education Department Intern
Texas Discovery Gardens is seeking an energetic, outgoing, detail oriented individual to become our next part-time, paid Education Intern for Spring 2016. The Education Intern will be responsible for implementing programs we offer to school children and general visitors. Internship duties will also include teacher communication, representing the Education Department at various festivals/fairs, curriculum development, minimal animal care and other various tasks. We are seeking one intern for fourteen weeks, beginning in late February and lasting until June 1st. Hours are typically Monday-Friday, with a few additional weekend days (20-25 hours per week).

Applicants should have a basic understanding of life science, experience working with children, and able to be on their feet for 6+ hours. This can be a fast-paced job, and employees are expected to move quickly and efficiently. First Aid/CPR certification, and being Spanish Bilingual are preferred, but not required.
There is a subsequent internship from June through August to assist with our Summer Camp programs. The Spring Education Intern is qualified to apply for this position as well, and would not have to interview to be considered for the Summer Camp internship.
Qualified applicants should turn in their resumes no later than February 1st. Resumes can either be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to 214-428-5338. Attach a concise cover letter directing the resume to the Education Department.
